HPNLU wins 16th GNLU International Moot Court Competition 2025

The competition witnessed participation from 72 teams.

The team from Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla has won the 16th Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) International Moot Court Competition (GIMC), 2025 held from September 24-28, 2025.

The team comprised Ashpinder Kaur, Priyanshu and Rimzhim Kheda. They competed against National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in the finals. Rimzhim Kheda also won the Best Orator in the Final Rounds award.

The team from NLSIU comprised of Catherine Elena D, Parthdhwaj Das Shukla and Ravi Jonwar.

This year's moot problem revolved around a non-tariff barrier, technical barriers of trade agreements and the violation of sanitary and phytosanitary principles between two WTO members.

The final rounds were judged by Head of Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL) Prof (Dr) James J Nedumpara, co-head of Swiss Institute of Comparative Law Prof Krista Nadakavukaren, Senior Legal Consultant at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Pallavi Bajaj, Ex Lege Chambers Founder Santanu Mukherjee, and DSK Legal Partner Ashish Chandra.

DY Patil Law College, Pune won the Best Written Submissions award.

Ishita Bharadwaj of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) won the Best Researcher award.
