ILS Pune wins 11th NLIU-Justice RK Tankha Memorial International Arbitration Moot

The competition witnessed participation from over 40 national and international teams.

A team from Indian Law Society (ILS) Law College, Pune has won the the 11th edition of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) – Justice RK Tankha Memorial International Arbitration Moot, 2026.

The moot was organised in association with the Office of Senior Advocate and Member of Parliament Vivek Tankha and was held from March 27-29, 2026.

The ILS team comprised Prakhar Pandey, Madhur Tiwari, Sudhanshu Gupta and Parth Ashish Jadhav.

The team also won the Best Memorial (Claimant) and Best Memorial (Respondent) awards.

Madhur Tiwari won the Best Speaker (Final rounds).

The team from Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) comprising Sakthi Palanichamy, Hussain Topiwala, Krishna M and Mahesh D emerged as runners-up.

The final round was judged by a bench comprising Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice Anand Pathak, Karnataka High Court Justice Chillakur Sumalatha and Advocates Prashant Mishra, Ankit Goyal and Shivam Patanjali.

Participants dealt with issues of jurisdictional and procedural challenges involving unilateral arbtration clauses, force majeure situations and disputes on the breach of contract.
