NLU Jodhpur wins 13th NLU Odisha Bose-Mitra International Maritime Arbitration Moot

NUJS Kolkata emerged as the runners-up team.

A team from National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) has won the 13th National Law University Odisha Bose & Mitra & Co International Maritime Arbitration Moot, 2026.

The NLUJ team comprised Akshitha P Hariharan, Aadya Sharma and Akshat Pal.

The team from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) comprising Aahi Guha Thakurta, Monojit Das, Nikita Kanwar and Mitansh Singh Chandel emerged as runners-up.

The team won the Best Memorial award.

Monojit Das also won the Best Oralist award.

This year's problem concerned a multimodal transport dispute involving the international carriage of perishable goods under a bill of lading.

Participants dealt with issues of wrongful delivery without presentation of title documents, damage to goods due to improper handling during transit, carrier liability under COGSA, the validity of exclusion clauses and obligations under international carriage rules.

The finals were adjudged by Bose & Mitra & Co Partner Aditya Krishnamurthy, Callidus Legal Founder and Managing Partner Joy Thattil Ittoop and NLU Odisha Vice-Chancellor Prof Ved Kumari.

Orissa High Court Justice V Narasingh and Prof (Dr) Dolly Jabbal were also present for the finals and the felicitation.
