NLU Jodhpur reaches semi-final of 47th Jean Pictet Competition

A team from the National Law University, Jodhpur (NLU Jodhpur) reached the semi-finals of the 47th Jean Pictet International Humanitarian Law Competition held at Denpasar, Indonesia.

The NLU Jodhpur team comprised fifth-year BA LLB (hons) students Vipashyana Hilsayan, Saumya Kaushik, and Diksha Kumari.

The competition is based on international humanitarian law, public international law and branches of international law applicable during armed conflict.

Named after Swiss jurist Jean Pictet, the competition aims to 'take the law out of the books.'

The competition's format involves simulations and tests such as moot pleading, negotiation, mediation, witness counselling, debate and MUN.

The semi-final rounds of the 47th edition were held on February 28, 2025.

Earlier, a team from the National Law School, Delhi (NLU Delhi), had reached the semifinal rounds of the 45th edition held in Antalya, Türkiye, from February 8 -15, 2025.
