A team from National Law University (NLU) Jodhpur emerged as runners-up at the 10th edition of the Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot Court Competition, 2026, held in London on April 17.
The team comprised Anshita Tiwari and Sarah Singh as speakers and Rishi Dev and Thejas Velaga as researchers.
The team secured a place among the top 16 teams worldwide out of 47 participating teams through the Memorial Qualifier and went on to advance to the final round, where it faced the University of Chicago.
Anshita Tiwari was awarded Best Individual Speaker in both the quarter-final and semi-final rounds. Sarah Singh was recognised as the Runner-Up Best Individual Speaker in the preliminary rounds. The team was also adjudged the Highest Ranked Team in the Preliminary Rounds.
The moot problem this year was a fictional case taking place in a hypothetical jurisdiction that has adopted the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-border Insolvency and the UNCITRAL Model Law on Enterprise Group Insolvency.
The problem considered a range of international insolvency laws and raised a number of contentious issues to challenge students’ critical thinking and research skills.
