Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Noida has won the 1st RN Mittal National Memorial Moot Court Competition held at Law Centre-I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.
The winning team from SLS comprised Isha Kashyap, Dishita Lumba and Riddhima Joshi.
The team from St. Joseph’s College of Law, Bangalore secured the runner-up position. The team comprised Sachin Gowda M, Harlton Lejo Joseph and K Rishu Nanjappa.
The competition saw participation from 60 teams across the nation and was spread over three days. The preliminary rounds were conducted on April 24, followed by the octa-finals and quarter-finals on April 25, with the semi-finals and grand finale concluding on April 26.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Justice N Kotiswar Singh of the Supreme Court of India. The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Justice KV Viswanathan of the Supreme Court and Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya of the Delhi High Court. The final round was judged by Justices Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora and Neena Bansal Krishna of the Delhi High Court.
Individual awards
Isha Kashyap of Symbiosis Law School, Noida, was adjudged the Best Speaker in the Finals, while Lavisha Bageja of Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, won the Best Speaker award in the Preliminary Rounds.
The Best Researcher award was shared by between Akshita of the School of Law, NFSU, Gandhinagar, and Jahnavi Sinha of Chandigarh University, Punjab.
The Best Memorial (Petitioner) was awarded to Anusha Meher, Gaurisha Rastogi and Tvisha Chopra of the University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIPU, while the Best Memorial (Respondent) was won by Rose Bhatia, Nitya Jain and Purvi S Jain of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), Sonipat.
