Since late last year, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Rachit Agrawal, a second-year student at the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam

Why did you choose to study law?

I chose to study law because the black robe always fascinated me and to be true I started hating Maths and Physics after Class 12 as I had much more interest in reading and therefore I chose Law because I find it interesting and the course structure of B.A. L.L.B. is such that one never loses interest

Why did you choose to become a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador?

I chose to become a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador because I came to know about it when I was preparing for CLAT and used to follow the handle on twitter to get the legal updates and the more I read the more I started liking the platform due to the simple way in which it tried to explain things.

Moreover when I was selected in National Law University Assam I found that there are many law colleges in and around Guwahati where many students pursue law but every time they visited our campus they would ask for a platform where they could read legal updates so I found that the platform is not that famous in NorthEast India and therefore when I saw the opportnity to become the campus ambassador I wanted to grab it to report the campus activities as well as report the other legal happenings in and around Guwahati.

I'm very thankful to Bar & Bench that they became the media partner in the Second Vox Anatolis Moot Court Competition this year.

What are your future plans after graduation?

I'm going to be in my third year now so I'm taking time to explore all the options but as I said earlier that the black robe fascinates me therefore I want to be a solo practitioner and independent litigator at the bar.

The road is indeed long!
