Arpita Mukherjee joins Hammurabi & Solomon as Senior Partner

Mukherjee is a seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer with over three and a half decades experience across private practice and senior in-house leadership roles.

Arpita Mukherjee has joined Hammurabi & Solomon Partners as a Senior Partner, strengthening the firm's Corporate & Commercial practice.

Mukherjee is an alumna of Campus Law Centre, Faculty Of Law, University of Delhi.

With over 35 years of experience, her appointment further strengthens the firm’s Corporate & Commercial practice and reinforces its ability to provide strategic, commercially focused legal counsel to businesses and leadership teams across India.

Mukherjee's experience spans across private practice and senior in-house leadership roles with prominent Indian and multinational organisations. Over the course of her career, she has held senior legal and General Counsel positions with organisations including ICICI, IL&FS, Genpact, Nokia Siemens Networks, Aricent Technologies, Levi Strauss & Co., METRO Cash & Carry, Tata Teleservices and Fabindia. Her experience encompasses corporate and commercial advisory, strategic transactions, business reorganisations, complex commercial negotiations, regulatory and compliance matters, governance and risk management.

Her practice also draws extensively on her experience as a General Counsel, with particular strength in technology and telecommunications, e-commerce, data protection, intellectual property, employment and consumer-facing businesses. She has advised businesses on acquisition due diligence, IPO and DRHP readiness, restructuring, compliance architecture and the implementation of legal frameworks within operating businesses. Her experience further includes pre-litigation strategy, risk mitigation, negotiation and settlement, as well as matters before courts, tribunals, arbitration and consumer forums.

Mukherjee joins from Anand and Anand, where she was a Consultant for the past three years.

This appointment follows the Firm’s expansion with Tripti Vinni, Senior Partner and Amrita Pandey, Partner.
