Vani Mehta takes over as General Counsel of GE South Asia

Mehta will continue her role as Managing Counsel alongside her new responsibilities as General Counsel.

Managing Counsel - Real Estate for the Asia Pacific region at General Electric (GE), Vani Mehta has taken over as General Counsel of the organization for South Asia.

Mehta will continue her role as Managing Counsel Real Estate for the Asia Pacific region alongside her wider regional responsibilities as General Counsel, South Asia.

She has previously held senior legal roles at GE across various geographies. Prior to joining GE, she was inhouse counsel for SAP (Ariba), and had earlier worked in law firms Little & Co and Fox Mandal, specializing in both litigation and corporate areas of practice.

She is a 2005 graduate of University of Delhi and has a postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Laws from National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad.

The South Asia legal team at GE has around 15 lawyers.

GE's previous GC, John Thaliath, had joined start up ZETWERK as its General Counsel in May this year.
