Hyundai Motor India appoints General Counsel Yogesh Wadhwa as senior management personnel

Wadhwa has led Hyundai Motor India’s legal and corporate governance function and worked on its IPO readiness and Pune plant acquisition.

Hyundai Motor India Limited has appointed its General Counsel and Function Head for Legal & Corporate Governance, Yogesh Wadhwa, as a Senior Management Personnel (SMP) of the company with effect from September 5, 2026.

The automobile manufacturer informed the stock exchanges of the change in a regulatory filing dated September 3. It also disclosed that Amitabh Lal Das, Business Head – Chief Legal Officer, has resigned and will cease to be part of the company’s senior management as of September 30.

Das has tendered his resignation from the post of Business Head – Chief Legal Officer on July 1, according to the resignation letter annexed to the disclosure. He requested to be relieved from his duties at the close of business hours on September 30.

Wadhwa has 26 years of experience in legal, compliance, litigation, regulatory affairs and corporate governance.

At Hyundai Motor India, he currently heads the Legal & Corporate Governance function. The company said Wadhwa has been involved in key initiatives, including its IPO readiness, the acquisition of the Pune plant, and the development of enterprise-wide ethics and compliance frameworks.

Before joining Hyundai, Wadhwa held leadership roles at General Motors, Renault Nissan, Halliburton, PwC and Fox Mandal across India and the Middle East.

Hyundai said his experience includes strengthening corporate governance, managing legal risks, aligning legal strategy with business objectives and building legal teams.

The company has accordingly classified his departure as a resignation and said his cessation as SMP will take effect on September 30.
