Iqbal Khan is set to join Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as a Partner in the Corporate Practice, along with his team. He will be based out of the Mumbai office of the firm.

As reported earlier by Bar & Bench, Khan has resigned from JSA to move to CAM along with his Partner Ashid Basheer and other team members.

Khan holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he earned recognition as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and an LLB from The London School of Economics and Political Science. He is dual qualified in India and admitted to the New York Bar.

On Khan and his team joining, Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas said,

“I am delighted to welcome Iqbal and his team to the firm. Iqbal’s experience and expertise will be valuable to our clients. With Iqbal’s arrival we continue to strengthen our capabilities to serve our clients and I look forward to their contributions and the continued growth of our firm.”

On his transition to CAM, Khan shared,

“We are delighted to announce that my team and I have joined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM), one of the most respected and influential legal brands not only in India but across Asia and the EMEA region.

My decision to join CAM was a natural one, driven by a shared commitment to excellence, integrity, and delivering commercially sound legal advice to a diverse and global client base. Over the years, our clients — many of whom are global leaders in their sectors — have consistently expressed deep admiration for the CAM brand, particularly for its visionary leadership under Cyril.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Cyril, Vandana, Rishabh, L. Viswanathan, Reeba, Paridhi, Anupriya, and others at CAM who made this transition seamless and efficient. I am equally grateful to my clients for their resounding support and warm congratulations over the past few days.

I look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to deliver excellence in collaboration with the colleagues at CAM.”

Khan provides sophisticated transactional advice to diverse clients, including to some of the largest global financial sponsors and strategics. He specialises in private equity investments, private and public mergers and acquisitions (both domestic and cross-border), joint ventures and foreign investment laws.

He brings to CAM a wealth of experience in advising on multibillion-dollar mergers, acquisitions and divestitures across various industries. His expertise encompasses life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, media and entertainment, technology, financial services, consumer products, data center services, manufacturing and green investments, and has played a key role in some of the largest - and award winning – transactions in such sectors in India / Asia.
