Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas Equity Partners Iqbal Khan and Ambarish, along with their team, are moving to JSA.

Iqbal is a senior Equity Partner at SAM and will be the National Corporate Lead working with the Executive Committee, Joint Managing Partners, and the PA Chairs at JSA to further strengthen the firm.

Iqbal was one of the first equity partners to join the Mumbai office of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas after the split of the erstwhile firm of Amarchand Mangaldas, over nine years ago. He is highly regarded for large complex private equity and M&A transactions (listed, unlisted and cross-border). Iqbal had worked with Paul Weiss and Kirkland and Ellis in the United States, before moving to India.

Ambarish is an Equity Partner at SAM and has been with SAM (as well as erstwhile Amarchand) for 16 years. He is also highly regarded for transactions involving listed companies and SEBI related matters. Ambarish has also spent time in Japan and has a significant Japanese practice.

Iqbal and Ambarish have led some of the largest M&A and PE transactions in the country representing foreign and Indian majors.
