Khaitan & Co Bangalore Partner Arun Scaria has left the firm to join Tanglin Venture Partners as a General Counsel in Singapore.

Rishabh Bhardwaj, who was a Partner at the firm's Bangalore office, has also resigned.

Commenting on these developments, Executive Director Amar Sinhji said,

“Both Arun & Rishabh have been very valued Partners of our firm. They contributed substantially to the growth of our Bengaluru office. They have both chosen to move on for a mix of personal & professional reasons. While we are sorry to see them go, this is a purely personal decision, taken by both after discussing with us all possible options. Arun has in fact joined a long term client of the firm and that relationship will only get strengthened.

We are fully supportive of their decision and all future endeavours. They will continue to maintain their relationship with us and collaborate professionally whenever there is an opportunity to do so.”

Scaria is a 2009 graduate of Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur. He started his career at Nishith Desai Associates, where he spent over 7 years before moving to Khaitan & Co in 2017. He was made Partner in 2018.

Bhardwaj is a 2011 graduate of Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar. He joined Khaitan & Co in 2013 and was made Partner in 2019.

The firm has recently also decided to boost its regional presence in Chennai by bringing into its fold Assentio Legal, a boutique law firm based in South India, effective July 1, 2021.

Assentio Legal was founded by Partners Thriyambak Kannan, Rohan Cherian and Renu Gopalakrishnan. The Partners will join Khaitan’s Chennai and Bengaluru offices along with their team of associates and support staff.
