Nikhil Chary has been appointed as co-chair of Addleshaw Goddard's India Business Group along with Jaya Gupta, effective May 1.

After Andrew Johnston took up the position of Managing Partner of the firm, Jonathan Tattersall is now Head of Asia that oversees the India Business Group.

As per a statement from the firm,

"Our ambition is for the firm to become a hub for cross-border work across Southeast Asia, India, the Gulf region and Africa, with a primary focus around our global infrastructure, retail, healthcare and financial services offerings."

Chary was made Partner at the firm in 2023. He specializes in mergers & acquisitions, securities offerings and general corporate work. He is a graduate of NALSAR, Hyderabad and has been working with participants in the Indian market for several years on a variety of complex cross border transactions. 

"Together with Jaya, who has considerable experience in the Indian market, Nikhil and Jonathan will look to drive the growth of our India practice in line with the firm's ambitions," the firm's press statement said.
