Partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas Pavit Singh Katoch has quit to join the makers of news app Inshorts as Group General Counsel.
Commenting on his move, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas Managing Partner Pallavi Shroff said,

Katoch is a 2007 graduate of University Law College, Bangalore, and holds an MBL from NLSIU, Bangalore and an LL.M. from Queen Mary University, London.
Prior to joining Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas in 2018, he was with Vaish Associates.
At Shardul Amarchand, Katoch specialised in litigation strategy and has been representing social media companies like WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram before the Supreme Court and various High Courts. He has extensively advised and represented IT and ITES companies on all aspects of their legal operations in India, including data privacy, intermediaries’ obligations and liability, content regulation laws, encryption, defamation and intellectual property laws, e-commerce regulations, laws applicable to fintech service providers, data protection and cybersecurity.
Inshorts is a popular aggregator app that summarizes news articles in 60 words and covers a wide-range of topics, including national, business, sports, technology, etc.
