Sujata Chaudhri IP (SCIP) Attorneys has announced the appointment of Nikhil Sharma and Arjit Benjamin as Partners to the firm's disputes practice.

An alumnus of Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, Sharma has 13 years of experience in contentious intellectual property work. He has acted for Indian and international clients in infringement, passing off and enforcement matters before courts and tribunals across the country.

He joins SCIP from Rahul Chaudhry & Partners.

An alumnus of Amity Law School, Benjamin's key areas of practice cover trademark and copyright disputes, and civil and commercial litigation. During his 11 years of experience, he has appeared before the Delhi High Court, District Courts, tribunals, the Trade Marks Registry and the Copyright Office.

He joins from Prosoll Law, where he headed the civil-commercial litigation and intellectual property practice.

Alongside the two Partner appointments, the firm has also brought on board two Senior Associates in the litigation practice.

Speaking about the appointments, Sujata Chaudhri, Founder and Managing Partner, said,

“We are pleased to welcome Nikhil and Arjit to the partnership. Both bring substantial court experience and a disciplined approach to contentious work, which is what our clients look for. The firm has seen a steady rise in disputes and enforcement mandates over the past few years, and these appointments allow us to take on that work with greater depth of expertise.”

Notably, in a series of initiatives to expand the leadership team, SCIP had onboarded Shabana Khan as Head of Patents - Principal Associate in February this year and Apoorva Trivedi as Partner to its trademark prosecution practice.
