Neel Maitra has joined Dechert LLP as a Partner in the firm's financial services practice at Washington DC.
Before joining Dechert, Maitra was a Partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati for nearly 2 years.
Prior to his return to private practice, Maitra served as the crypto and fintech specialist in the Division of Trading and Markets at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
As one of the agency’s key experts, he advised on a range of crypto issues and developments, including initial coin offerings, broker-dealer regulation of crypto asset companies, crypto-based exchange-traded funds and private funds, decentralized finance and innovative trading platforms.
On Maitra's joining, Dechert co-chair Dave Forti said,
