IndusLaw, Bharucha, Nishith Desai, Gunderson act on Unacademy fund raise from Tiger Global, Dragoneer

The funding round values Unacademy Group at $2 Billion.

Education technology startup Unacademy (Sorting Hat Technologies Private Limited) has raised an investment from DF International Private Partners (Dragoneer), Internet Fund VI Pte. Ltd (Tiger), General Atlantic Singapore and Steadview Capital Opportunities PCC valuing the Bengaluru-based company at $2 billion.

IndusLaw represented Unacademy with a team led by Senior Partner Suneeth Katarki, along with Partner Rashi Saraf and Associates Ankita Gupta, Manisha Nayak and Nishihi Shah.

General Atlantic Singapore was represented by Bharucha and Partners. The Bharucha team was led by Partner Vandana Pai, Associates Aditi Mallavarapu and Ayush Jain.

Steadview Capital Opportunities PCC was represented by Nishith Desai Associates.

Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP represented DF International Private Partners (“Dragoneer”) and Internet Fund VI Pte. Ltd (“Tiger”).

The latest investment comes just two months after Unacademy raised $150 million led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 at a valuation of $1.45 billion. Khaitan & Co had acted for SoftBank.
