Khaitan & Co advises IRFC on ₹13,527 crore refinancing of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project

The funds will refinance of existing debt of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad).

Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited has sanctioned a financial assistance of ₹13,527 crore to L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited for the purpose of inter alia refinancing of existing debt of the company.

Khaitan & Co acted as lender’s legal counsel to IRFC on this transaction. The Firm assisted in structuring of the deal and drafting and finalisation of financing documents.

The transaction team consisted of Dr Siddharth Srivastava (Partner) and Abhilash Kumar (Principal Associate).

The funds will refinance of existing debt of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) in relation to setting up and implementation of the rail system for 71.16 km on elevated structures on Miyapur to L. B. Nagar; Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma and Nagole to Shilparamam corridors in Hyderabad on design, build, finance, operate and transfer ("DBFOT") basis.
