Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas advises SageOne on acquisition by ASK Asset Management

The acquisition brings together two established investment management platforms with complementary synergies.

ASK Asset Management Private Limited, a Blackstone-backed asset management platform, has acquired 100% of the shareholding of SageOne Investment Managers LLP.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co advised SageOne Investment Managers LLP, its founder Mr. Samit Vartak, SageOne Ventures LLP and the sellers, advising on all aspects of the transaction, including the negotiation and finalisation of the acquisition agreement, the agreement with ASK Investment Managers Limited and other transaction documents.

The transaction team comprised Jay Gandhi (Partner), Abhishek Parekh (Partner), Namrata Bhagwatula (Partner), Nayanikaa Shukla (Senior Associate), Awantika Yash (Associate) and Aayush Bafna (Associate).

They were supported by the Competition team comprised of Yaman Verma (Partner), Aman Singh Sethi (Partner), Apurv Jain (Senior Associate), Saachi Kale (Associate).

The Acquisition Agreement and the agreement with ASK Investment Managers Limited were executed on September 30, 2026. The transaction remains subject to applicable regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

SageOne is a SEBI-registered portfolio manager and investment manager of Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), and also has an IFSCA-registered fund management entity in GIFT City.

The acquisition brings together two established investment management platforms with complementary synergies.

As part of the transaction, Mr. Samit Vartak will be appointed as Chief Investment Officer – Equities at ASK IM for the combined business.
