Job Description
AK & Partners is inviting applications for the position of Senior Associate in its General Corporate practice, with a strong focus on financial sector regulation and fintech advisory.
This is a growth role aligned with the firm’s expanding work with regulated entities, fintech companies, NBFCs, and foreign investors operating in India’s financial services ecosystem.
This role is suited for lawyers with 5–7 years of post-qualification experience who are looking to take on greater ownership, client-facing responsibility, and long-term career growth within a specialised, partner-led practice.
Role Overview
As a Senior Associate, you will play a central role in advising clients on a wide range of corporate and regulatory matters, including RBI regulations, FEMA, PMLA, digital lending frameworks, payment systems, and compliance requirements applicable to financial sector entities.
You will be expected to independently manage matters with partner oversight, contribute to regulatory strategy, and act as a key point of contact for clients on day-to-day issues.
The role involves a combination of advisory, structuring, and transactional support, requiring strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and comfort in dealing with complex regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Advising clients on corporate and financial sector regulatory issues
Supporting structuring and documentation for regulated businesses and fintech platforms
Managing transactions and regulatory advisory assignments end-to-end
Interfacing directly with clients, regulators, and external stakeholders as required
Supervising junior associates and ensuring quality and timely delivery of work
Contributing to internal knowledge development and practice growth
This is not a backend drafting-only role. The Senior Associate is expected to demonstrate independent judgment, reliability, and accountability.
