A leading Indian consumer durables company specializing in health and hygiene solutions is looking to hire a Legal Manager, and a Legal Assistant Manager in Mumbai.
Number of Positions: 1 (One) Position Each
PQE:
Legal Manager (Corporate & Commercial Contract) is 6-8 years
Assistant Manager Legal (Litigation, Compliance and IP) is 4-5 years
Qualification:
Legal Manager: LL.B. from a recognized university; CS qualification is an added advantage.
Assistant Manager: LL.B. from a recognized university; Bar enrolment mandatory.
Location: Mumbai
Legal Manager: Commercial contracting
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including dealer and distributor agreements, vendor and procurement contracts, service and AMC agreements, marketing and endorsement contracts, as well as NDAs and commercial term sheets.
Lead end-to-end contract lifecycle management, from drafting and negotiation through execution and renewal.
Develop and implement standardized templates and playbooks to streamline contracting processes and improve efficiency.
Provide risk-based, commercially sound legal advice to enable business teams to close transactions while safeguarding organizational interests.
Advise on corporate governance and compliance under the Companies Act, including board and shareholder matters.
Assist in drafting board resolutions, internal policies, and governance documentation.
Support secretarial and compliance functions on an ongoing basis.
Assist in legal due diligence for acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships.
Review and negotiate transaction documents such as share purchase agreements, asset transfer agreements, and joint venture agreements.
Coordinate with external counsel on transaction documentation, risk assessment, and closing deliverables
Legal Assistant Manager
Managed consumer litigation across District, State, and National Consumer Commissions involving product performance, warranty disputes, service deficiencies, and unfair trade practice claims.
Handled civil and commercial disputes including dealer/distributor conflicts, recovery matters, cheque dishonour cases, and contractual disputes.
Drafted pleadings, legal notices, written statements, evidence affidavits, and settlement agreements.
Coordinated with external counsel to devise litigation strategy, ensuring cost efficiency and timely resolution.
Maintained litigation MIS, conducted exposure assessments, and reported updates to senior management.
Advised business and service teams on compliance with consumer protection laws, Legal Metrology, advertising regulations, and product-related statutory requirements.
Supported responses to regulatory notices and enforcement actions.
Strengthened SOPs to reduce consumer disputes and revenue leakages, particularly in AMC/service-related areas.
Conducted legal risk reviews of marketing claims and promotional campaigns.
Managed trademark portfolio including filings, objections, oppositions, hearings, renewals, and enforcement coordination.
Conducted brand clearance searches for new product lines and sub-brands.
Assisted in anti-counterfeiting initiatives and brand protection strategies.
Remuneration:
Legal Manager: ₹18 – ₹20 lakhs per annum
Assistant Manager Legal: ₹14 - ₹15 lakhs per annum
