The Bombay Gymkhana is gearing up to host the 12th Annual Lawyers Football Championship on October 19 and 20, 2024.

The 6-a-side tournament has drawn the participation of various law firms and lawyers' associations since its inception in 2011.

The last edition of the tournament was the largest in its history, featuring a remarkable 56 teams, including 36 men’s teams and 20 women’s teams who participated in the Ladies Penalty Shootout. Sponsored by Wadia Ghandy and Co., this year's event is expected to maintain the momentum with teams organized into groups for the initial round of play.

Saturday evening will see the teams compete under floodlights in a Round Robin stage. The top teams from each group will advance to Sunday’s knockout phase, where they will vie for the prestigious Chief Justice Chagla Cup.

Meanwhile, the second-placed teams will compete for the Wadia Ghandy Plate, and the third and fourth-placed teams will battle for the Wadia Ghandy Bowl trophy.

Past winners of the tournament include the Bombay Bar Association, Hariani and Co., Wadia Ghandy and Co., Amarchand Mangaldas and Kanga & Co. This year, teams from various State Bar associations are expected to participate, adding to the excitement.

Interested law firms are encouraged to register by contacting Farhan Dubash at 9820506685 or Samarth Chowdhary at 9820984260.
