15th SILF Turf Cricket League featuring 32 law firms kickstarts with captains' meet, draw of lots

The 15th edition of the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) Turf Cricket League kickstarted on Wednesday with the captains' meet and a draw of lots hosted by the President of SILF, Dr Lalit Bhasin.

The trophies for winners and runners-up teams were unveiled by Dr Bhasin, Sachin Khurana, and the Chairman of the Ram Rattan Group, Vijay Chaudhary.

Dr Bhasin, in his address, spoke on the significance of SILF and extended a warm welcome to all the captains.

Sachin Khurana, the founder of Turf Sports Management, then briefed the gathering about the rules and regulations of the league. He also touched upon the prospect of introducing a women's exhibition game.

Khurana further informed that approximately 55 out of the total 80 matches will be live-streamed on Turf Sports Management's YouTube channel.

The 15th Edition of the SILF Turf Cricket League is slated to be held in Delhi from October 7 2023, with the finals scheduled for December 3.

Matches will be played on weekends at the Modern School, Barakhamba Road and the Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce , Pitampura.

32 teams are participating in the tournament this year. Last year, the tournament featured 21 law firms.

The teams will be divided into 8 pools of four teams each. The pool composition is as follows.

Each team will play a minimum of 3 league games and one playoff game as part of the tournament. Customised coloured uniforms with team logos, player names and numbers will be given to the 15 member squad of the teams.

The tournament has Bar and Bench as its digital media partner, with sponsorship from the Ram Rattan Group and Hamdard Safi.
