Kochhar gets new Tax Partner Prateush Sharma in Mumbai

Prateush Sharma has recently joined the Mumbai office of Kochhar & Co. as a

Partner in the Taxation practice.

He will work along with Senior Partner, Shahid Khan, who heads the firm’s tax practice. Khan is a former Member of the Central Board of Direct Taxes and senior IRS Officer.

Prateush has nearly twenty-two years of experience in indirect taxation. Prior to joining Kochhar, he has worked with the Federal Department of Revenue, and also worked at MV Kini & Co. as Partner in tax team.

Managing Partner Rohit Kochhar in the release said, “Prateush is a valuable addition to the firm and broadens our tax capabilities.”

Kochhar & Co has been on a hiring spree after three of its partners left to join Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. The firm recently hired Sumit Phatela in Gurgaon in the Corporate and Banking & Finance practice, and Gaurav Chatterjee from Universal Legal in Chennai. In May this year ex- Amarchand lawyer Saloni Gupta joined the litigation practice in Delhi.
