J. Sagar Associates Partner Akshay Nagpal has resigned from the firm to join Indigo as Associate General Counsel.

Confirming his departure, Joint Managing Partner Dina Wadia said,

“An exciting opportunity came his way and he has seized it. We wish him the very best.”

Akshay, who holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, was made Partner in 2013 and focuses on M&A, joint ventures, commercial contracts and corporate advise. He had worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell for a year.

Nagpal is the second Partner-level exit from the firm. Earlier this year, Equity Partner Somasekhar Sundaresan had also resigned from the firm for counsel practice.

The exits come at a time when there has been some significant movement in the senior-level management. The firm made five Equity Partners today – Manvinder Singh, Trisheet Chatterjee, Poonam Verma, Lalit Kumar and Pallavi Bedi.
