Allen & Overy has recently announced 19 partner promotions worldwide including Counsel Gautam Narasimhan in Singapore. Gautam’s promotion to partnership is one of five in A&O’s Asia offices.

Gautam is qualified to practice in England & Wales, New York and India. His practice focuses on representing international banks and hedge funds in complex structured and leveraged finance transactions in South Asia and South East Asia.

He is a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore and did his LL.M. from New York University as a Hauser Global Scholar. After completing his LL.M. in 2001, he moved to London to work with Clifford Chance as a trainee solicitor. He was at Clifford Chance for three years, before moving to the London office of US firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. He worked there till 2006 and then moved to Singapore to join Latham & Watkins where he worked for three years.

Gautam joined Allen & Overy in 2010, and has been advising International banks on several structured and outbound acquisition financing transactions involving Indian companies such as the Adani Group, GMR, Vedanta, Essar, Manipal, Suzlon, according to A&O release.

The other four partners promoted in Asia offices are David Kuo – Corporate, Frances van Eupen – International Arbitration, John Lee – International Capital Markets and Scott Neilson – Banking.

Allen & Overy had last year hit the headlines when it ended its five-year long referral agreement with Trilegal.
