ALMT and Clyde part ways; ALMT partners leave to set-up Clasis Law

Bar & Bench

Five partners across Mumbai, Delhi and London offices of ALMT Legal have decided to leave ALMT to start-up a new firm Clasis Law. This break away has brought the best-friend relationship of ALMT and Clyde & Co. to an end.

Clasis Law will now retain the best-friend relationship with Clyde & Co.

ALMT Partner Aliff Fazelbhoy in the press release said, “Given the views of the majority of the ALMT partners, we felt it best to help facilitate this separation so both groups can focus on their different objectives. Whilst we are sad to lose some of our friends as partners we believe that this separation is in the best interest of all. We wish Clasis Law every success”.

Clasis Law was set up with effect from April 1, 2011. Partner Renu Parekh and of Counsel Damodar Rao from Mumbai office, Partner Vineet Aneja from Delhi office and Partners Sakate Khaitan and Shalini Agarwal from London office have joined hands to set up Clasis Law. Also joining them as partners are Clyde & Co Dubai Partner Abhimanyu Jalan and India Law Services Partner Ishtiaq Ali.

Clasis Partner Sakate Khaitan said, “We at Clasis Law look forward to the exciting new challenge of building a genuinely international Indian law firm which can service our clients in a wide range of markets”.

With the break away, ALMT Legal now remains with 12 partners in all.
