Amarchand Tax Partner Aseem Chawla resigns

Bar & Bench

Amarchand Mangaldas Partner and Head of Tax Practice Aseem Chawla has resigned from the firm.

Bar & Bench had contacted Aseem. However, he was not available for comment.

Aseem has vast experience in advising corporate houses on varied matters including international tax, inbound & outbound investment structuring and cross-border tax issues. He has also represented clients in tax litigation matters before appellate forums.

Aseem had joined Amarchand in 2005 to set up the firm’s tax practice. Prior to joining Amarchand, he was in his private practice after he gained experience working with Senior Advocate and accountancy firms.

Contrary to the speculation, it is unlikely that Aseem will join any accountancy firm.
