Ex-IDBI, DRT Presiding Officer Arun Kumar Mishra joins MDP & Partners

Former Kolkata DRT Presiding Officer, Ashok Kumar Mishra has joined Mumbai-based MDP & Partners as a Senior Partner. Mishra will be heading the firm’s banking practice.

Mishra commenced his career as an advocate in District Court, Puri in Odisha in 1982 and his professional expertise extended to handle civil, criminal and labour cases.

Following his practice in the Puri District Court, he joined SBI as a Law Officer in 1987. After his stint with SBI, he joined IDBI (currently IDBI Bank). During his spell with IDBI Bank, Mishra was instrumental in dealing with several Corporate Finance and Recovery related matters pending before various high courts.

He has also specialized in matters of restructuring related to CLB, BIFR, CDR, winding up, merger and demerger and CLB/NCLT.

Following his retirement as General Manager Legal from IDBI Bank, Mishra served as the Presiding Officer of Debts Recovery tribunal, Kolkata from 2012 till 2017. He was also appointed as Presiding Officer, DRT from 2015 till 2016.
