Additional Advocate General appointed: Aruna Shyam for Bengaluru and YH Vijaykumar for Gulbarga Bench of Karnataka High Court

Aruna Shyam and YH Vijaykumar have been appointed to the Bengaluru and Gulbarga Bench respectively

Advocate Aruna Shyam has been appointed as the Additional Advocate General (AAG) for the State Government of Karnataka at the Bengaluru Bench of the Karnataka High Court.

He took charge as the AAG from Advocate General Prabhuling Navadgi on September 9.

After completing his BA.LLB and LLM at Kuvempu University, he enrolled with the Karnataka Bar in 2004. Shortly After, Shyam joined the chambers of Senior Advocate and Additional Solicitor General) KM Nataraj.

At present, he serves as a conciliator and member of the Lok Adalat Bench consisting of a sitting Karnataka High Court judge.

Aruna Shyam is also a member of the Academic Council at National Law School of India University (NLSIU). Currently, he is pursuing Ph.D. in law at Alliance School of Law, Bangalore.

One post of Additional Advocate General was vacant post the elevation of R Nataraj. Justice R Nataraj was elevated to the Karnataka High Court in November 2019.

YH Vijaykumar has been appointed as the Additional Advocate General of the Gulbarga Bench of the Karnataka High Court.

The Notification also mentioned that Dhyan Chinnappa would continue as the Additional Advocate General of the Dharwad Bench till further orders.
