Ashok Parija appointed Advocate General for Odisha

The Odisha government has reportedly appointed Senior Advocate Ashok Parija as the new Advocate General for the state.

Parija will replace erstwhile Advocate General Surya Prasad Misra.

Following his enrolment in 1984, Parija practised under former Advocate General for Odisha, Bijoy K Mahanti. 

Parijs was designated as a Senior Advocate in 2003 in the Orissa High Court. In 2008, he was elected a member of the State Bar Council. The same year, he became a member of the Bar Council of India. In July 2011, he was elected Chairman of the Bar Council of India.
