Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Mumbai Corporate Partner Ashwath Rau is leaving the firm, according to our sources. There is a strong possibility that Rau will be moving to the Mumbai office of AZB & Partners.

Neither Cyril Shroff, nor Zia Mody were available for comment at the time of publication. Bar & Bench had reached out to Zia Mody earlier as well, but received no response.

Update: Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Managing Partner Cyril Shroff has confirmed to Bar & Bench that Ashwath Rau is leaving the firm.

Rau was admitted to the firm’s partnership in 2006, and was co-heading the Corporate Practice with Reeba Chacko at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

The Partners at his team include Ganesh Rao, Shishir V, Anu Tiwari, Dhruv Singhal and Jaya Singhania. Both Tiwari and Singhal were recently promoted to Partnership.

Given his seniority, the NLSIU graduate (Class of ’99) would be looking for an Equity Partner role at AZB & Partners.
