Governor of Karnataka, Vajubhai Vala has today appointed Senior Advocate Prabhuling Navadgi as the Advocate General of Karnataka with immediate effect.

Navadgi replaces Udaya Holla, who resigned shortly after the Congress-JD(S) lost power in Karnataka. This is the first appointment made by BS Yediyurappa soon after been sworn in as Chief Minister on July 26, 2019.

In July 2018, Holla had replaced Prabhuling Navadgi, who had resigned from the post soon after the BJP government ceased to be in power in the state.

Navadgi was the first to be appointed to the post of ASG for Karnataka after the creation of the post in 2014. His term was extended in 2018 by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice.

Prior to that, he was representing the Karnataka government as Additional Advocate General in 2011.

Navadgi was designated as Senior Advocate in 2014 along with Aditya Sondhi, Sajan Poovayya, and Shashi Kiran Shetty.
