Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas’ Mumbai Partner Himanshu Dodeja will be leaving the firm and is in advanced talks for a senior in-house role with Blackstone Group, according to our sources.

Himanshu Dodeja was not available for comment at the time of publishing the story.

Himanshu is one of the eight recent Partner promotions at the firm. As part of the corporate practice, Himanshu has been actively representing some of the biggest private equity funds in India. Blackstone is one of the most active funds in India.

Cyril Shroff confirmed Himanshu’s departure and said, “We wish him well. Our alumni is our strength wherever they go”.

A graduate of Amity Law School, Himanshu also holds an LL.M. from NYU Law School and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Recently Cyril Amarchand’s star partner Ashwath Rau, announced his decision to leave the firm. According to sources close to the matter, Ashwath will be joining AZB & Partners in Mumbai.
