Centre notifies appointment of Suvra Ghosh as Additional Judge of Calcutta High Court

Pursuant to a Collegium Resolution passed last month, the Central Government has notified the appointment of Judicial Officer, Suvra Ghosh as Additional Judge of Calcutta High Court.

As per the Central Government Notification dated November 14, Ghosh would remain in office for a period of two years with effect from the date she assumes charge of her office.

Ghosh was recommended for elevation by the then Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court in April, 2018.

Subsequently, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the name of Ghosh after an assessment of merit, scrutiny of the material placed on record, and interaction with her.
