Wadia Ghandy & Co’s Real Estate & Litigation Partner, Dhawal Mehta has been made the Joint Managing Partner at the firm. He will be sharing the position with existing Managing Partner Ashish Ahuja.

Dhawal confirmed that he has been given this new role. He told Bar & Bench that,

“Our mentor, Hamid Moochhala has decided to have both of us as Managing Partners to share responsibilities as the firm grows.

Ashish Ahuja, who is the esisting Managing Partner, commented, “Dhawal is known for his razor sharp mind and analysis. He is by far the best person to lead the vision of the firm.”

Mehta, a GLC Mumbai graduate, had joined the firm in 2002. Of late, Wadia Ghandy has seen a number of high-level exits including Amit Manubarwala‘s decision to join ELP, Gaurav Singhi’s move to JSA and Anand Shah’s shift to AZB.

Commenting on the recent exits, Dhawal said,

“With the firm evolving everyday with new thoughts and policies, there might be people who may have different ideologies and would like to move out. We respect their independence and decisions”.
