Dr. Akshaya Kumar Mishra appointed Orissa High Court judge

Dr. Akshaya Kumar Mishra has been appointed judge of Orissa High Court. The Central government issued the notification clearing his name today.

Mishra was the sole candidate who was found suitable by the Supreme Court Collegium out of the 12 names recommended by the Orissa High Court Collegium.

The Orissa High Court Collegium had recommended a total of twelve candidates – four judicial officers and eight advocates.

On October 31, the SC Collegium had declined the names of eleven candidates while recommending the name of Mishra, who is a judicial officer.
