Dua Associates recently hired one equity partner in Bangalore and four salaried partners across different offices. The firm also saw the departure of Varalakshmi Tadepalli, Partner at the Hyderabad office who took the decision to pursue private practice.

Bangalore Office

Vimla Pinto has rejoined the firm as Equity Partner in the firm’s Bangalore office. Vimla, who has rejoined the firm after 12 years is a senior litigator and has merged her practice at VMP Law Chambers with the firm. Vimla had also worked with J. Sagar Associates.

Vimla is the second recent addition to the Bangalore office. In February this year, Manoj Menon rejoined the firm from Tatva Legal as an Equity Partner.

Hyderabad Office

Senior lawyers Bhaskar A.V.V. and Sangeeta Bhaskar have joined the firm’s Hyderabad office as Salaried Partners merging their corporate and real estate practice and litigation practice respectively with the firm.

Both will now head the Hyderabad practice replacing Hyderabad Head and Partner Varalakshmi Tadepalli, who has resigned to pursue private practice.

Two litigators from Sangeeta’s firm will also be joining Dua Associates.

Gurgaon Office

Amit Cowshish has joined the Gurgaon office as Salaried Partner and is part of the Defence Practice group. Amit Cowshish is a former Financial Adviser (Acquisition) and Additional Secretary and Member, Defence Procurement Board, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. 

Former Tatva Legal lawyers Anuj Trivedi and Siddharth Bhavnani have also rejoined the firm as Managers in the Gurgaon office.

In May, the firm had promoted Robin David to Equity Partnership, made three new non-Equity Partners and six new Managers in addition to nine new Senior Associates. The promotions had taken place across the firm’s Delhi, Singapore, Gurgaon, Chennai and Bangalore offices.

Former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer independent consultant Priya Christian had also recently joined the Delhi office as Salaried Partner to further strengthen the firm’s Competition Law Practice.
