Help Desks for prison inmates inaugurated at Dwarka court lock-ups

Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, Gita Mittal inaugurated Help Desks for prison inmates at Dwarka court complex.

The idea was mooted by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA).

The said facility is being provided to enable prison inmates to effectively communicate with their lawyers when they are waiting in lock-up inside court complex before production in the court.

In her inaugural address, Justice Gita Mittal highlighted that it was perhaps the first such initiative taken in the entire country and it was much needed to enable the prison inmates to have effective communication with their lawyers

Besides, help desks for prison inmates, Help Desks for traffic matters, a creche, Water Treatment Plant and a Solar Power Plant were also inaugurated by the Acting CJ.

Earlier this year, Dwarka court had also got a Vulnerable Witness Deposition Complex, the fourth court in Delhi to get such a complex.
