Anuradha Iyer, who had founded I&S Associates along with Bakhtiar Sunavala, has recently joined the Mumbai office of Tatva Legal as a Partner. She will be working with Partner Mahernosh Humranwala to further boost the firm’s corporate and commercial practice in Mumbai.

In 2006, Anuradha and Bakhtiar Sunavala had set up I&S Associates before which she was working with AZB & Partners. She worked at AZB for about 9 years prior to which she did a brief stint with Thakker & Thakker.

A graduate of Government Law College Mumbai, Anuradha is a qualified Bombay solicitor with 25 years of experience in corporate and commercial law.

Tatva Legal has also promoted three of its Managers Ritika Pal, Seher Ali and Raghunath Ananthapur to partnership. Ritika and Seher are based in the firm’s Delhi office while Raghunath is in Bangalore. All three moved with the team of lawyers that left Dua Associates in 2010 to set up Tatva Legal.

Last year, the firm had promoted S. Raghunandana and R. Vasudeva to Partnership in the Bangalore office while Rajeev Reddy, a 2003 graduate from NALSAR University, was promoted in the Hyderabad office.

With these promotions, Tatva Legal now has 16 Partners across its offices in five cities with a total strength of over 80 lawyers.

“We never had the luxury of growing from a small unit to a larger unit. We started as a large unit and we kept growing”, says Managing Partner Shishir Sharma. With the firm completing four years in January, Shishir adds that the struggle has been worth it. “There have been many challenges but there hasn’t been an occasion where I regret having taken this decision.”
