[Exclusive]: AZB gets five new Partners in Mumbai office

AZB & Partners is going to promote five of its Senior Associates to partnership with effect from October 1, 2015. The five new Partners will be

  • Ananya Sharma
  • Ratnadeep Roy Chowdhury
  • Nilang Desai
  • Lionel D Almeida
  • Anand Shah

AZB Managing Partner Zia Mody commented,

Ananya Sharma

Ananya Sharma joined the firm in 2008 prior to which she was working at ICICI Bank.

Ratnadeep Roy Chowdhury joined AZB in 2011 prior to which he was with Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai.

Nilang Desai

Nilang Desai is a graduate of King’s College London. He has previously worked at Linklaters, Gide Loyrette Nouel and White & Case before joining AZB in 2013.

Lionel Almeida has previously worked at Crawford Bayley. He joined AZB in 2007 and focuses on capital markets and securities law.

Anand Shah

Anand Shah is a graduate of Government Law College, Mumbai. He joined AZB in 2014 from Wadia Ghandy, where he was already a Partner.

The promotions come at a time when the legal market has seen a large number of  vertical movements across various firms. Recently, the firm also saw the exit of its Senior Partner Shuva Mandal, who has moved to Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.
