[Exclusive]: AZB Mumbai hires Suzlon in-house counsel, Naved Askari

AZB & Partners has hired Suzlon’s senior legal counsel, Naved Askari as a Counsel in its Mumbai office, according to authoritative sources.

A graduate of Government Law College, Mumbai, Naved joined Suzlon in 2009. Prior to Suzlon, Naved was working at Wockhardt. He has over 18 years of experience working as in-house counsel and at law firms. He has previously worked at Mulla & Mulla and Wadia Ghandy & Co.

The firm has also hired RBI Executive Director G Padmanabhan as Senior Consultant, as first reported by Legally India.

Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, Padmanabhan was heading the Department of Payment & Settlement Systems in the Bank since March 2005. Padmanabhan has worked with RBI for over 36 years.

AZB Managing Partner Zia Mody was not available for comment at the time of publishing the story.

The firm has also promoted two of its lawyers Percis Anklesaria and Nanditha Gopal to partnership.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas also has hired Pradeep Kumar Bagga as Senior Consultant at its New Delhi Office to tap the policy and regulations market.
