[Exclusive]: Cyril Amarchand Mumbai Partner Gurpreet Ashar quits for “lifestyle choice”

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Mumbai Partner Gurpreet Ashar will be leaving the firm soon.

Cyril Shroff confirmed her move to Bar & Bench and said,

“She is moving on for a lifestyle choice with our blessings and goodwill. As a law firm we will have lawyers make lifestyle choices.”

A graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Gurpreet started her career at Amarchand Mangaldas in 2003. She was made Partner in 2011 and has been part of the M&A and corporate restructuring practice group.

Her husband, Yash Ashar is an Equity Partner and heads Cyril Amarchand’s Capital Markets practice.

It has been a time of great change at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas; the firm has seen a number of Partner level exits and hires. The latest to leave has been Ipsita Dutta, who is heading for Morgan Stanley.
