[Exclusive]: SAM strikes (at Dua) – Equity Partner Shiraz Patodia to move

Dua Associates Equity Partner Shiraz Patodia is leaving the firm to join Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.

Patodia has been working with Dua Associates since 1999 and is the Senior Partner handling the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practice. Patodia is moving with her team.

Patodia’s team includes Partners Priyanka Sharma Goswami and Anusuya Sadhu Sinha. Her team also includes Manager Saloni Tuteja and Senior Associate Amrita Sharma.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co Managing Partner Pallavi Shroff confirmed Shiraz’s joining and said,

“We are very happy that Shiraz is joining us. I look forward to working with her in building Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.”

It is understood that she is the second biggest equity holder at Dua Associates

after Ranji Dua.

Shiraz’s practice focuses on corporate-commercial litigation and arbitration spanning across sectors such as environment, intellectual property, anti-bribery, white-collar crimes, telecom and specific relief.

Both Ranji Dua and Shiraz Patodia were not available for comment at the time of publishing the story.

Earlier, three Dua Associates Litigation Partners – Neeraj Sharma, Alok Tiwari and Seshagiri Vadlamani left the firm to join Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

Recently, SAM & Co has hired JSA Equity Partner Akshay Chudasama and his entire team in Mumbai. Chudasama has been made the Regional Managing Partner of the western region.
