Ranjan Negi, who had resigned from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas in April this year, will be joining Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Delhi. Negi will also bring along his team of 5 lawyers to head the IP practice of the firm, according to authoritative sources.
Ranjan Negi was handling the firm’s IP practice along with IP Partner Dev Robinson and was based out of Gurgaon office. A graduate of Delhi Unversity, Negi joined the Delhi office of Amarchand Mangaldas in 2002 prior to which he was working at Remfry & Sagar.
It is understood that Negi’s team also includes Rekha Dabas, who was formerly Principal Associate at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas. She joined Amarchand in 2011 to manage the contentious and non-contentious trademarks practice.
Both Cyril Shroff and Rajan Negi were not available for comment at the time of publishing the story.
This is not the only high-level movement from Shardul to Cyril.
Aarti Joshi, Principal Associate at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, who resigned from the firm last month, is joining Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Delhi as Corporate and Capital Markets Partner.
National Law School of India University, Bangalore in 2003. She initially worked in the firm’s Mumbai office and later in 2006 moved to the Delhi office where she was part of the Capital Markets team working with Partner Prashant Gupta.
Earlier Cyril Shroff has hired two capital markets lawyers Gokul Rajan and Nikhil Naredi.
