Flipkart GC Rajinder Sharma quits after less than 10 months at the top

Bar & Bench

Less than ten months after he joined Flipkart as General Counsel, Rajinder Sharma has quit the Indian e-commerce giant, reports the Economic Times.

Sharma, who replaced Srivals Kumar as GC in September last year, is the former Director and General Counsel of Samsung’s South and West Asia operations. Prior to that, he has previously worked in the in-house legal teams at Tata Steel, Escorts, Reliance, Bharti, Coca-Cola, JSW Group and DuPont.

With Sharma at the helm, the Flipkart legal team had reportedly won an international award as second best in Asia Pacific, adjudged by a jury of global General Counsel.

Flipkart Chief Financial Officer Sanjay Baweja will temporarily head the legal team until a new GC is appointed.
