Former Kerala High Court Justice S Siri Jagan passes away

Justice Jagan has also served as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of NUALS, among other roles after his retirement in 2014.

Former Kerala High Court judge, Justice S Siri Jagan passed away on Saturday at Kochi after an illness. He was 74 years.

Justice Siri Jagan was born on January 22, 1952 and is a native of Mayyanad, Kollam District. He pursued LLB at the Government Law College, Trivandrum, and did his LLM at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

He was appointed a Kerala High Court judge in February 2005 and retired from office in 2014.

Following his retirement, he has served in many roles, including as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) and the Chairman of the Sabarimala High Power Committee appointed on the Kerala High Court's orders.

He also served as the Chairman of a committee constituted on the Supreme Court's directions to assess compensation for stray dog victims in Kerala.

More recently, he had been tasked as the administrator of Indus Motors Company Pvt Ltd., which is facing allegations of large-scale oppression and mismanagement in relation to which a case is pending before the National Company Law Tribunal, Kochi (NLCT).

He passed away last night. The cremation will be held later today at Ravipuram, Kochi.
