Former Tamil Nadu Advocate General, K Alagiriswami passes away

He enrolled as an advocate in 1961. He was appointed the Advocate General of Tamil Nadu in February 1989, a post he held till 1991.

Former Advocate General and Senior Advocate K Alagiriswami passed away on Monday morning.

Born in 1935, Alagiriswamy graduated from Loyala College, Madras in 1956 and took his law degree from the Madras Law College in 1959.

He enrolled as an advocate in 1961. He served as Central Government Standing Counsel between 1969 and 1976. He was appointed the Advocate General of Tamil Nadu in February 1989, a post he held till 1991.

He has also served as a President of the Madras Bar Association from 2010 to 2012.
