The conference will be held on December 5 and 6. The last date for online registrations is December 1, 2025.

Bar & Bench

The International Bar Association will be hosting the Fourth IBA India Litigation and ADR Symposium, taking place on December 5 and 6, 2025, at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi, India.

The International Bar Association's (IBA) India Litigation and ADR Symposium aims at exploring the evolving landscape of law, justice, and dispute resolution in India and beyond. This event will bring together eminent speakers from India and other countries to discuss key developments in legal systems, arbitration, white-collar crime, and digital regulation.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with leading practitioners and gain practical insights into the evolving legal landscape in India and internationally.

The symposium is presented by the India Working Group of the IBA Asia Pacific Regional Forum and supported by the IBA Arbitration Committee and the IBA Litigation Committee.

The conference will feature panel discussions aimed at exploring a wide range of topics.

Topics and theme include:

  • The rule of law – will the rule of law and the justice delivery system in India offer a competitive edge over other developing economies? Can uniform laws and justice delivery mechanisms drive us towards a borderless world?

  • An arbitrator should also be competent to be an amiable compositeur or mediator.

  • What are the new rules, methodologies and developments in arbitration law and practice? Are the new amendments proposed for India’s arbitration law likely to be game changers? How do these compare with the recently enacted UK Arbitration Act 2025?

  • Emerging issues in intellectual property and artificial intelligence

  • White-collar crime, bribery and corruption

  • Privacy, GDPR and the new Digital Personal Data Protection Act: where is the freedom of speech on the one hand and regulation of social media on the other?

  • The benefits and impact of artificial intelligence on dispute resolution – is India’s Grand Trunk Road warning ‘speed thrills but kills’ at all relevant in this context?

  • This House believes that social media is the only safe and reliable outlet for real information in an increasingly regulated world.
